The Annual Newton 4th of July Parade, hosted by the Newton Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 9:30 AM. The theme this year is “A Hometown 4th of July!”. Plan your float or parade entry around any great 4th of July Memory; from family picnics and ice cream socials, to a pie eating contest or a church carnival. This year reflects the simple, pure memories of friends, family and neighbors gathering to celebrate our great country together.
Downtown food and fun will begin after the parade and conclude around 1:00 PM. Parade entries must be pre-registered and entry forms can be found on the Chamber's website, www.experiencenewton.com.
4th of July Schedule Highlights
7:00 AM – Parade line-up begins at DMACC.
General parade entries should enter North 2nd Avenue West from West 8th Street North. Check-in at the tents. You’ll be lined up first-come-first-served. Make sure you read ALL of the parade safety guidelines on the parade registration form!!
City and County services, Military, Veterans, High School Band, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts and other politicians and dignitaries will line up on W 4th Street North entering from N 4th Ave West (parade officials will be there to help you line up in the proper order).
9:30 AM – 4th of July Parade!!
The parade will once again begin at DMACC, head East Down 1st Avenue, turn north at E 4th St., and head West on 2nd Ave. back to DMACC.
11:45 AM - Dedication of the Veteran's Memorial on the Courthouse Lawn
After the Dedication, Cul de Sac will be performing.
11:30 AM-1:00 PM – Food and Festivities around the Courthouse Square
Activities include: Bounce House, Toddler Obstacle Course, Spin Art, Dunk Tank, Face Painting, Barrel Train Rides, Kiddie Carnival Games, Strongman Hammer & Bell and Horse Carriage Rides.
Food Vendors: VFW Ladies Auxiliary cotton candy, popcorn & snow cones; JCARL walking tacos; Newton Noon Kiwanis Breakfast & Lunch Pizza; Smokin' Mississippi Queen BBQ; & Zimm's Kettle Korn.
